Villain Paper Lanterns

Client: Self Motivated These die cut paper lanterns are designs I created for my blog, Designs By Miss Mandee. Die cut design is something I've fallen in love with over the past few years! In 2017, I challenged myself to design and produce four different paper lanterns based on Disney villains. For this project, I specifically focused on villains that undertook a transformation in their movies. Their respective paper lanterns depict them in both of their states (for example: Maleficent is shown as both a witch and a fearsome dragon). The finished products are 3D in nature, and look particularly good int the dark.

Harry Potter T-Shirts

Client: Puffer Threads Puffer Threads is a company who's mission is to create awesome stuff. Stuff that tells a story. Stuff that expresses who you are to the world. It is a very big goal. How do they get all that awesome stuffed into one normal sized shirt? That is the magic of Puffer Threads. It all starts by employing dozens of unicorns, grazing majestically in a field of marshmallows trees. Our artists wander among the grand beasts, waiting for inspiration to come. Notepad in hand, each idea quickly takes shape into a garment worthy to be worn by any man, woman or child. (From there they just, you know, stick it in the computer and have a shirt made. They ship it in the normal mail, just like your other stuff. No magic there.) But, when you receive an item from Puffer Threads, you will behold the greatness. As you wear each item, others will behold the greatness. When you area ready to wash the item, you can follow the instructions on the tag. No greatness will be washed out.

Trade Show Booth Designs

Client: Grant Victor One of my responsibilities as a designer for Grant Victor has been to conceptualize and design booths and graphics for our many trade shows. Because Grant Victor comprises four separate companies and often exhibits with other companies as well, it is imperative that the designs I create can be re-worked and implemented in a variety of ways. The shows Grant Victor exhibits at range from small, tabletop spaces, all the way up to 20'x20' freestanding spaces. I have designed numerous, interchangeable backwall "skins" for our different booths, as well as tabletop graphics, pull-up banners, and other displays for trade shows.

Small Scale Pharma Solutions

Client: Elizabeth Kelly Small Scale Pharma Solutions is just that—a small business with a focus in the pharmaceutical industry. With over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical and quality assurance industry, Elizabeth wanted to venture out and start her own company. This logo incorporates a clean, professional look, with a modern feel. The simplified and iconic rendering of a DNA strand gives reference to the industry, but doesn't overpower the company name itself.

Die Cut Paper Lanterns

Client: Self Motivated These die cut paper lanterns are designs I created for my blog, Designs By Miss Mandee. Creating die cut designs is a fun challenge for me. For this project, I wanted to merge the mediums of story-telling and paper cutting, and incorporate them into a 3-D space. These lanterns are a part of a series I intend to continuously build upon. They each depict an iconic Disney scene within four small windows. These delicate designs are created out of one sheet of paper, but give the impression of something much more precious.

Boyani, Kenya Mural

Client: Boyani Primary School In November, 2015, I had the opportunity to go to Kenya to take part in a humanitarian aid project funded by Grant Victor. My primary objective was to design and oversee the painting of a mural for the Boyani Primary School—a school building funded by Grant Victor to replace the mud hut the students and teachers formerly met in. Boyani is known for being near an elephant migration area. The women in the village are known to be hard workers: often carrying one or even two children while they work in the fields or carry water to their homes. When I designed the mural, I included a mother elephant with her baby in the foreground, and another mother/baby animal pair in the background. The babies are close to their moms (the baby elephant even holding it’s mother’s tail) to not only demonstrate the physical closeness on the mothers to their children, but the closeness of the community of Boyani in general. I included bright colors to reflect the happiness and joy the people of Boyani radiate. The entire design was kept simple, because we had less than two days, limited resources, and one rickety ladder to pull […]

B&G Wedding Invitation

Client: Braiden & Ginnia Braiden and Ginnia are a cute couple from Ogden, Utah. I took their engagement photos and designed their wedding invitation. They wanted the design to have a rustic/vintage feel. The flowers are my own hand drawn illustrations, incorporating a watercolor texture achieved through Photoshop. I used black and white photos tinted slightly beige to achieve a more vintage appearance. These muted photos also aid in making the flowers on top really pop. I used a combination of a hand painted script font and a hand drawn sans serif font to add a stark contrast between the type, while continuing with the rustic theme.

Grant Victor 15th Anniversary

Client: Grant Victor Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Kaysville, Utah, Grant Victor is the foremost retail-style ATM service and solutions provider in North America. Grant Victor wholly owns four strategic business units, and together the family of companies facilitates the access and convenience to cash in the consumer marketplace. 2015 marks the 15th anniversary of Grant Victor. When I set out to design a mark for the celebration, I chose a more muted color palette and incorporated lots of crystal elements (because, as anniversary traditions go, the 15th year is the crystal year). The Grant Victor "G" is inlayed to look like it is growing from the crystals and the color is inverted in white to make it really stand out.

OilExperts

Client: Oil Experts Doterra essential oils are becoming more and more well known as people look for alternatives to prescription medication products to aid in overall wellness. The OilExperts provide wellness advocates with products to help them show potential customers the benefits of essential oils. The branding for this project needed to be sleek and appeal to both men and women. I went with a flat logo design that incorporates two different font weights. The symbol in the logo serves multiple purposes: on an angle, it can be viewed as a leaf—a symbol of wellness and an ingredient in many essential oils. Seen vertically, the leaf can also be perceived as a drop of oil. Turned on it's side, the leaf transforms once again to be the letter 'e', giving reference to experts.
