Nurturing Animals

Client: Weber State University This project started with the prompt of creating a poster revolving around the topic of elephants. The poster designs were then sold to faculty and students at the Weber State University Campus as part of a fund-raiser to help save African Elephants. My concept hinged on the ideas of minimalism and sentimentality as a way for the audience to relate. I have since extended this project into a series of compositions about mother and baby animals.

Mardi Gras Postcard

Client: ATMequipment.com This is a postcard design advertising a sale for the customers of ATMequipment.com. Each year, ATMequipment.com hosts a Mardi Gras sale for customers who submit ATM components for repair. Green, gold, and purple are iconic Mardi Gras colors. I included both the purple and gold colors in the design to create a feeling of luxury while still reflecting the idea of Mardi Gras. The contrast of the script title and the serif font in the body copy also add to the sense of luxury, and make the recipient feel more like they are being invited to an upscale event rather than receiving an advertisement.

Lilac Cosmetics Packaging

Client: Self Motivated I created these package designs as part of a project for one of my design courses. Lilac Cosmetics provides high quality beauty products to customers who value the simple elegance of design coupled with a distinctive product. When designing this packaging, I wanted everything about the experience to feel luxurious: from gazing at the elegant pattern, to the tactile feeling of holding the box and taking off the die-cut ribbon.

EMV Infographic

Client: ATMequipment.com This is an infographic I designed to help the customers of ATMequipment.com learn more about the upcoming transition of magnetic strips to EMV chips on credit cards in America. The design of this graphic is laid out so that a view's eye is guided from top to bottom, answering the questions What is EMV?, Why make the switch?, and to inform the reader of important dates at the end. I made use of simple, flat design elements along with directional arrows, and variations of one typeface. I also included lines in the background of the design reminiscent of circuit boards—lending to the ideas of data and transaction. The circular chart graphics near the center are designed to both draw the viewer in, while presenting information in a way that visually easy to understand.

Disney Quotes

Client: Self Motivated These quotes are both designs I created for my blog, Designs By Miss Mandee. I wanted to do something that had a Disney feel while incorporating minimal design elements and colors. The Cinderella design makes use of the color blue to resemble the dress she wears in the movie. The design also includes swirls of sparkles reminiscent of when Cinderella's fairy godmother uses her magic to create the dress for her. The quote from the Cheshire Cat includes a stylized image of the cat's tail in the background. The tail itself is made to look as if it only partially there, giving reference to the cat's ability to disappear. Both designs utilize the same font combinations, and a similar color palette so as to be a part of the same set.

WSU Alumni Center

Client: Weber State University Alumni Association   The Lindquist Alumni Center is a beautiful building, and it is a little-known fact that it can be rented out for wedding ceremonies and receptions. I decided to take on this re-branding project with the intention of not only increasing the amount of weddings held at the Alumni Center, but increasing the experiential quality for customers and potential customers. This included designing various printed materials, a new landing page, and emails.

The circular motif is reminiscent of a compass, symbolizing direction and way finding.
